The Nine of Cups

Thoth 9 of Cups
The Nine of Cups

I walked through the portal of the 9 of Cups, and stepped into a landscape filled to overflowing with a fecund and fertile beauty. It was early evening, in a distant place that reminded me of Nuristan, and the soft spring light softened the hills and mountains into swathes of lilacs and ashen blues, smudging them into every conceivable shade, from delicate blushing pink through to a gently thundering indigo.
In every place, every field and ditch, every hedgerow and hill, there were signs of burgeoning growth, with practically every tree in sight laden to capacity with blossoms.
I came upon a particular field, where a family were having a picnic, shaded by the cool leaves of a wide spreading willow tree… they were purely in this moment, this perfect point of fulfilment…. they were so happy…. And I remembered times past, when I have seen those fleeting moments of happiness that are so clean and clear that they shatter under the intensity and fracture into infinitesimal points of light.
I carried on walking, and admiring that seductive landscape, and eventually came to Malachi’s house, which seemed better appointed than usual. This time it was built of stone, with particularly large blocks on the corners, I wondered if this indicated a strong heart. I went inside, and Malachi was inside holding a large bronze cup in his hand. He told me that the Cup represented the heart, and the way that it holds the emotions.
I got an image of jousting, and I asked him about this, and he said that the knights jousted for the favour of a lady, the theme of Courtly Love, of worshipping the beloved from afar, but that it was a mistake to believe that this was the only way a heart could be filled. He intimated that the love of the 9 of Cups was a pure and overflowing love that belonged more to the divine, and to ones personal connection with it, rather than to any single person that might offer the promise of such love.
I looked for the book, and the pages showed me the image of the Buddah and the words “seek your own divinity” The object I left with was a Jade heart. I felt very peaceful at the end of this journey, very connected to my own personal understanding of divinity.

Jade is a special stone that is believed to promote wisdom, balance, and peace. It has spiritual attributes, which are extremely distinct. This prehistoric sign of calm and peace is a unique, strong piece of tool that encourages our consciousness to increase at a higher level. However, jade gemstones perform such function in a restrained and humble way. Because of its extraordinary broad effectiveness, this gemstone is frequently categorized together with the diamond.

Since the prehistoric time, Jade was regarded as a gemstone of nobility, power, and royalty most particularly in the East. It was considered as a manifestation of the worldwide ideology. The jade gemstone corresponds to the atmosphere of the Planet Neptune. Thus, the reason why people who are born with astrological signs representing a water element are mostly fascinated with jade.

Jade is a special gemstone of healing and stability. It relieves anxiety and lightens emotions developed from fear. This stone is one of the many gemstones, which never allow any negative energy or negative influences to affect the individual wearing it. It does not allow the entry of any external negative vibration. It simply protects people from getting disturbed by negative influences as it continues to emit cleansing and calming aura. Jade can also establish a closer connection between the different stages of the intellectual part of the body. Hence, it improves the mental capacity of a person. The ancient people from the East have known all the healing properties of Jade for hundreds of years.
