With its origins in the magical liminality of the turning of the year, that period when we look both forwards and backwards, the Full Moon falling on July 9th 2017 had its seed moment on the 29th of December 2016. This Full Moon in Capricorn, asks us to look at the projects that we started at this time, that were born out of our desire for security, our need for safety and to satisfy our physical desires. Capricorn speaks of achievement, and for gaining recognition and approval in the eyes of the world, and it may be that the projects or situations that we started around this time, were done so out of a desire to achieve just this. In the six months that has passed, there will have been time enough to see whether the soil in which our seeds were sown, was fertile or not, and whether we must abandon our project or whether the prospects for the future are good. It could be, that events that are arising now may even be connected to matters that originated back in October last year, as the Mars Pluto opposition that is currently in play, and which is being highlighted by the current Full Moon, will have had its roots back then.
Capricorn has a long association with the archetype of the Father, just as its opposite sign of Cancer has been thought of as representing that of the Mother. This full moon will be activating these images powerfully within the collective, and issues to do with parenting, and our experiences within our own family of origin will be emerging, perhaps forcefully at this time. Reflecting Capricorns concern with duty, responsibility, and the need to apply rules, we may find ourselves finally rebelling once and for all against the strictures that we might have inherited from our birth families, and forgoing etiquette and protocol in order to finally embrace a way of life that reflects a more authentic version of who we really are. So as well as the Solar Lunar cycle of the New & Full Moon, we are also looking at a darker more forceful cycle between Mars & Pluto.

Matters concerning power, control, masculinity, sexuality and creative drive are all on the agenda this month, and there could be some intense feelings around, as we are forced to look at whether we are really using these energies in the most authentic and creative way.
Despite your greatest efforts to maintain order and control of emotional issues, you may find that feelings just refuse to stay below the surface, and emotional eruptions could result, especially if matters that need to be discussed have not been. Although there will be a desire to maintain balance and harmony, to keep the peace, it may be that this is just not possible, and if you are in a situation like this, it may be better to just wait until the dust settles before trying to attempt any repairs that you see are necessary under the light of the full moon.
With its foundations in a place of CHANGE, this Full Moon will test as to whether what we started at the end of last year is strong enough to survive. Was our desire for change too hasty to take heed of the place we chose to build on, did we look into what we were doing carefully enough, did we decide in haste? Issues will arise at this Full Moon that will test the validity of what we are doing, and whether we may need to reconsider. If what we have started requires too much from us on any level, too much WORK in one direction and not enough in another, then it may be better to change direction before we become exhausted by the difficulty of keeping it all together. The importance here is whether what we are doing is feeding us MIND, BODY & SOUL…. for if we are engaged in projects that only provide for our physical needs rather than our emotional and creative needs as well, then they may ultimately sicken and fail.
