The Moon is still in Cancer and this, combined with a harmonious aspect between Mercury and the North Node, suggest that it is a good time for projects that involve teamwork. It is time to co-operate and reap the rewards. Today, Jupiter enters the sign of Scorpio, and we will be under this influence until the beginning November 2019. Our desire for expansion and understanding turns away from focus on the balance of power in relationships towards the need to really understand our unions on a deep and intense level. We may be forced during this period to face the issue of whether our most profound relationships, really speak to us on a deep and spiritual level. This will not be a time for seeking the relationship that “looks good” or that which appeases social ideas of protocol and harmony, but a time to delve into yourself and discover the path of intimate relationship that speaks to you in a transformative and intense way. Passions are likely to run high during this phase, and you will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about your most taboo areas. Beliefs around sex, death and money will all be under review.
As a complete departure from both the Thoth deck, and in fact from Tarot altogether, I am spending some time next, with an (arguably) far more ancient form of divination, The I Ching. In this form of divination, “hexagrams” are created either through the casting of sticks, coins or rice grains. I will be using sticks, harvested this summer from my mothers apple orchard, one that she planted herself, as I channel the wisdom and intuition of the feminine, down through my feminine line.
Even before Tarot, even before Astrology, my first passionate teenage divination relationship was with The I Ching, and I am delighted to be sharing my re-engagement with this craft form here on my blog, thirty five years later! The images and Hexagram text are reproduced here with the very kind permission of Benebell Wen.
My name is Joanna Grant, I am an Astrologer, Tarot Reader and Writer, who lives on the beautiful Beara Peninsula in the South West of Ireland. I can often be found at home, deep in arcane research, or practicing some new form of divination whilst burning the dinner! My children probably wish that I was “normal” but may well remember my eccentricities fondly when they come to face the challenges of their own paths. My long knowledge of Astrology leads and informs my practice, in offering guidance, empowerment and healing, helping others to lead a more authentic and magical life. You can read more about me here.
