The Daily Oracle: Tuesday March 20th: The Spring Equinox

Wheresoever we have spoken plainly, there we have spoken nothing, but where we have used riddles and figures, there we have hidden the truth.

The Rosarium Philosophorum

Doing battle with your fears and anxieties today, will not help you, and you run the risk of drawing down more than you would wish upon your shoulders. Better to turn away from the worries and troubles that you perceive to be important, and to focus within. Although you may not recognise it as such, the battles that you engage in with your mind, can merely result in becoming more deeply entrenched into what ever it is that you are trying to escape; the key is to look elsewhere. Listening to your inner voice, even when it appears to be telling you things that make you fearful, or that widen your eyes with disbelief, can really help you here, and lead you towards a deeper recognition of the transformations that are waiting to take place. Although it may seem like a huge task, or even an unattainable one, know that your inner self is waiting to guide you, should you wish to take the first steps.

This month, The Daily Oracle will be devoted to my exploration of The Alchemical Tarot. Created by Artist and Scholar Robert Place. This deck envisions traditional tarot understandings within the wisdom of the alchemical tradition, and I have found it a very pleasing deck to work with. Providing interesting links between the more traditional interpretations of RW, and the energetic mandalas that I perceive within the Thoth system, I find this deck uncomplicated but also deeply insightful. The artwork is both peaceful and dynamic, and works to allow the intuition to flow easily amongst the cards without the distraction that I have found in some other decks. Alchemy has long held a fascination for me, and I am very much enjoying my exploration of this particular deck, one that speaks with a gentle yet clear and commanding voice. Information on Robert Place, his work, and how to order this, or one of his many other tarot decks, can be found HERE
