The Daily Oracle: Friday May 18th

The sharp-edged Swords divide the misty Air, whose Moisture lets them yield to outer form, but they divide and sever, for they’re Warm. With nimble strokes their edges split the hair. By Seven the array is forced to flee, and yet it holds a Hidden Unity.

John Opsopaus

A flood of swords to end the week, reminding you that it is your own fears that are magnifying the doubt about what you wish to, or intend, to do. Although you may feel that you are “damned if you do, and damned if you don’t” it is important to see that through not doing anything, that you only increase the difficulty of your situation and the internal mental pressure that you are under. Listening to the views of others may also not be helping the situation, and it could be relevant to understand how many people have their own agendas, rather than their own interests at heart, and that although you may feel that you are not influenced by their words, to understand that they all contribute to your own doubt and confusion. You know deep within you what you need to do, and the cards today confirm that to delay any further is only to increase the strain you are under, unless it is the case that on some level you are actually enjoying the drama and attention that this gains you. You know the answer…. it’s time to make the move.

This month, inspired by my three week exploration of historical sites in Ancient Mesopotamia, The Daily Oracle this month will be devoted to my exploration of The Mythic Tarot. Published in 1986 by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene, the cards are drawn by Tricia Newell. I have loved the ancient greek myths since I was a child, and often use this deck to do readings when I am “stuck” with something for myself. I find the insight to be gentle and direct. The Verses that I have used for each post are the work of the gifted John Opsopaus, whose work can be found HERE

Header art work: Persephone & The Pomegranate by Kris Waldherr. You can read more about her work HERE

My name is Joanna Grant, I am an Astrologer, Tarot Reader and Writer, who lives on the Head Shot Fadebeautiful Beara Peninsula in the South West of Ireland. I can often be found at home, deep in arcane research, or practicing some new form of divination whilst burning the dinner! My children probably wish that I was “normal” but may well remember my eccentricities fondly when they come to face the challenges of their own paths. My long knowledge of Astrology leads and informs my practice, in offering guidance, empowerment and healing, helping others to lead a more authentic and magical life. You can read more about me here.
