The trumpet sounds; the Herald calls the Child To rise and be rewarded – or reviled. Reborn from ash that roasted in the Arc, His spirit body bears the golden mark. Arise, and let the poles be reconciled!
Yesterday, we saw Chiron, in the shadowy background of The Two of Wands, as Jason stands poised before the journey that he is to embark on to gain his inheritance, and to find the golden fleece. Today Chiron emerges clearly into the reading, letting us know that it is important at the moment to make sure that we are embodying our own spiritual ideals in our everyday lives. This in itself may require us to look at past patterns that may no longer apply to us, and perhaps to develop a new way of living that is relevant to who we are now. A certain level of self acceptance may now need to be attained, a recognition of where you are now in life, and what is now possible. Depending on where you are on your life journey, this process may also involve the acceptance of what is no longer possible for you, and this in itself may be a bitter pill to swallow.
The wisdom however that is available to you through this internal confrontation and assimilation has the potential to help you to uncover the tools that you require now. Issues that you may have been struggling with for a long time, have the potential now to achieve a certain level of clarity, if you are able to accept your current place with a sense of humility. An understanding of how the roads you have trodden have brought you to your current position, will help you to understand that there has been a meaning and purpose behind what you have experienced, and that is has all been part of your greater becoming.
This month, inspired by my three week exploration of historical sites in Ancient Mesopotamia, The Daily Oracle this month will be devoted to my exploration of The Mythic Tarot. Published in 1986 by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene, the cards are drawn by Tricia Newell. I have loved the ancient greek myths since I was a child, and often use this deck to do readings when I am “stuck” with something for myself. I find the insight to be gentle and direct. The Verses that I have used for each post are the work of the gifted John Opsopaus, whose work can be found HERE
Header art work: Persephone & The Pomegranate by Kris Waldherr. You can read more about her work HERE
My name is Joanna Grant, I am an Astrologer, Tarot Reader and Writer, who lives on the beautiful Beara Peninsula in the South West of Ireland. I can often be found at home, deep in arcane research, or practicing some new form of divination whilst burning the dinner! My children probably wish that I was “normal” but may well remember my eccentricities fondly when they come to face the challenges of their own paths. My long knowledge of Astrology leads and informs my practice, in offering guidance, empowerment and healing, helping others to lead a more authentic and magical life. You can read more about me here.
