The Pentacles exert the force of Earth, whose Dryness sets the shape, a rigid mold,
a body joined together by the Cold. The solid ground of life confirms its worth. By Four-square poise an Order is defined, in double pairs the disjoint poles to bind.
Today, you gain further realisation of how you may tend to hold on to material situations or things, through a fear of facing your own potentials. Although this may well be grounded ostensibly in a fear of loss, you may in fact, through this behaviour, be preventing your own richness from developing. Although a “tight fist” keeps hold of its money, it also denies the ability to “accept more”, so through your fear of loss, in some way you are being advised that you may be denying your own growth and abundance. Your own fear of experiencing the untold depths that lie within, and of giving yourself up to the magical processes that are available to you, may in time, ensure that you progress no further. However, through facing your fear of the challenges that are before you now, you will have the opportunity of releasing the rich potentials that are available to you. Holding back from experiencing life to the full, ultimately does not keep you safe, but rather enslaves you to the fears that hold you within your “personal history”. Allowing your inner feminine to be released, and to experience the fear and the power, the life and the death, that is on offer for you, will ensure that you progress beyond this point, and to gain mastery over the aspects of yourself that, through their denial, have been so far been calling the tune.
This month, inspired by my three week exploration of historical sites in Ancient Mesopotamia, The Daily Oracle this month will be devoted to my exploration of The Mythic Tarot. Published in 1986 by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene, the cards are drawn by Tricia Newell. I have loved the ancient greek myths since I was a child, and often use this deck to do readings when I am “stuck” with something for myself. I find the insight to be gentle and direct. The Verses that I have used for each post are the work of the gifted John Opsopaus, whose work can be found HERE
Header art work: Persephone & The Pomegranate by Kris Waldherr. You can read more about her work HERE
My name is Joanna Grant, I am an Astrologer, Tarot Reader and Writer, who lives on the beautiful Beara Peninsula in the South West of Ireland. I can often be found at home, deep in arcane research, or practicing some new form of divination whilst burning the dinner! My children probably wish that I was “normal” but may well remember my eccentricities fondly when they come to face the challenges of their own paths. My long knowledge of Astrology leads and informs my practice, in offering guidance, empowerment and healing, helping others to lead a more authentic and magical life. You can read more about me here.
