The fervent Wands convey the force of Fire, their Heat expanding upward, subtle, pure. With Dryness they impose what they prefer, for ideal forms ignite the will, inspire. The Nine includes the center with the wheel: the Third Perfection, dawn of the ideal.
An interesting start to the week, with the sense that on some level, you are being asked to have a final attempt at something that you may have given up as lost. After everything that you have endured, and every avenue that you have exhausted, it seems that you might just have the energy for one last try. You are being challenged to look deep within yourself, in order to find the strength and wisdom necessary to see your way through to the end of this matter. In a way, you are being asked to face things about yourself that so far you may have been avoiding, and this challenges you to let go of your simplistic and carefree view of the matter, and to address things from a more adult perspective. It seems that only by confronting the dark reality, finding your own power and joining with it, will you be able to find the joyful resolution that you sense is possible. You hold the answer in your hands, but need to realise that in order to step into the reality of it, you must also let something go, something which is connected to youth and the dream of eternal summer. Although this may well feel difficult, it is an important step towards the emotional fulfilment that you seek.
This month, inspired by my three week exploration of historical sites in Ancient Mesopotamia, The Daily Oracle this month will be devoted to my exploration of The Mythic Tarot. Published in 1986 by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene, the cards are drawn by Tricia Newell. I have loved the ancient greek myths since I was a child, and often use this deck to do readings when I am “stuck” with something for myself. I find the insight to be gentle and direct. The Verses that I have used for each post are the work of the gifted John Opsopaus, whose work can be found HERE
Header art work: Persephone & The Pomegranate by Kris Waldherr. You can read more about her work HERE
My name is Joanna Grant, I am an Astrologer, Tarot Reader and Writer, who lives on the beautiful Beara Peninsula in the South West of Ireland. I can often be found at home, deep in arcane research, or practicing some new form of divination whilst burning the dinner! My children probably wish that I was “normal” but may well remember my eccentricities fondly when they come to face the challenges of their own paths. My long knowledge of Astrology leads and informs my practice, in offering guidance, empowerment and healing, helping others to lead a more authentic and magical life. You can read more about me here.
