“Some of you say, “Joy is greater than sorrow,” and others say, “Nay, sorrow is the greater.” But I say unto you, they are inseparable. Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.”
A day where gratitude for what you have now, and for the good things that you have enjoyed in life, flood around you like a warm blanket to comfort and reassure. Remembering the good times of laughter, shared meals and peacefulness will help to carry you through this day. Although on the inside, you may feel far from this sun filled and joyous place, be mindful that any feelings of hopelessness and destitution will pass in time, remembering that it is often how we view the situation that will colour the pictures in our hearts.

Ritual for Change
Rise a half an hour earlier than usual, make a hot cup of tea, and sit yourself in your favourite chair. While the tea is cooling, shuffle the cards, trying to find the feeling that is uppermost in your heart. Try to still your mind from questioning, and just focus on the feeling. When you are happy with the feeling of the cards, draw any two. Whilst you are drinking your tea, read the relevant stories, referring to the paintings, and see what comes up for you. Be aware of how you are feeling, and make short notes if you have the time; a journal of these readings can be a valuable and precious asset.
The first card will tell you what to focus on as you go about your daily life, the people you meet with, the work that you do, the necessary chores, the duties and the tasks. How to physically arrive in the best shape, at the end of your day. The second card is for your secret self, the chrysalis within. It will tell you what is needed to aid your transformation, what feeds your soul and how to cope with the burdens that you bear. This card will keep you going, guiding you until after the sun goes down, and sleep beckons……..Rinse and repeat for as long as you need; don’t rush, change rarely happens overnight.
