The North Node in Leo: Love Has The Face of a Goddess, But The Talons of a Lion.

I was the shyest human ever invented, but I had a lion inside me that wouldn’t shut up! Ingrid Bergman

For the next year and a half, the North Node of the Moon will be in the sign of Leo, with its corresponding South Node in the sign of Aquarius. If you are blessed with planets or angles located in the sign of Leo, watch out for new energy coming in, as the nodal axis passes these points. For other star watchers, you might notice which houses of the horoscope are being highlighted by the North Node in Leo. The nodal axis moves in reverse, i.e “retrograde motion” so is currently at 29 degrees, and will move “backwards through Leo, to finally enter Cancer in November 2018.

If you were born with the North Node in Leo you may be familiar with the ongoing struggle with the will that this can present, together with the challenge to develop personal strength in life. There is often a strong desire for a better life, and for personal recognition, but also alongside this, a difficulty with realising that this can often only come as a result of your own creative efforts.

For the rest of us, what does the transiting North Node in Leo offer us? And how can we use this available energy to its best effect?.

With Leo, creativity is king, and this 18 month period may be seen as a window of opportunity for fostering creativity, will, artistic projects, love, romance, playfulness and all things Leo, into whichever area of life this sign rules in your chart. Watch out for opportunities in the environment (indicated by the area of life where you have Leo in your chart) to develop artistic talents, achieve public recognition, find artistic acclaim, (or notoriety) be celebrated, or otherwise become talked of or noticed.

As we know, “by our vices and our virtues shall we be known”, so it may also be relevant to remember that hubris is also connected to Leo, and that one can also be known for ones misdemeanors as well as ones more laudable achievements.

Being able to stand forward and be seen as separate from the crowd, may be a challenge for some at this time, even if this is something that has been desired. When it finally comes to the crunch, it may feel safer to sink back into the anonymity of the group. Will you be able to face the challenge when it comes?

Will you be able to speak out, be noticed, to stand by your beliefs, to be counted for your ideals, to assume the role of King? All this and more comes along with the shiny golden crown that Leo promises, and the heavy cloak of responsibility that it bears. Along with the promise of adoration,

comes too the fear inherent in letting go of freedom, of the commitment to a chosen path, rather than the path of the group, and it can mean a lonely road, but also one of your own choosing.

The Tarot Cards from The Thoth that are associated with Leo are the Five, Six & Seven of Wands, which I feel are connected to the strife that is inherent in “battling” for the position, the sense of pride and victory that is won, when the position is achieved, a momentary phase, and finally the bravery that must be employed to uphold the position, the responsibility and the road ahead, the challenge of maintaining the vision, and recognizing that you must continue, or bow out to a new pretender to the throne.

Truth does not sit in a cave and hide like a lie. It wanders around proudly and roars loudly like a lion.
