My name is Joanna Grant, and I currently live in the south west of Ireland, where I paused briefly on my travels nearly 30 years ago!

I have been drawn to the mysteries since childhood, to that quiet intelligence threaded through the natural world and to the patterns that reveal themselves to those willing to wait. It was this pull which led me to astrology & tarot more than forty years ago; a passion which holds me even now.

My work centres on natal & relationship astrology, traditional horary techniques and tarot. I work with people who find themselves in the middle of something: facing uncertainty, transition, the particular weight of emotional complexity; questions which seem to circle restlessly. The seasons when timing feels opaque, when something beneath the surface is clearly moving, and when the ordinary explanations have quietly exhausted themselves. Those are the seasons that draw me.

I hold the Diploma in Astrology from the Faculty of Astrological Studies and the Advanced Horary Diploma with the STA. In recent years, the traditional techniques, horary in particular, have brought a new rigour and depth to how I read a chart. My foundation in psychological astrology and its mythic symbolism has benefited from the structure and discernment of tradition, bringing me greater precision and insight into the patterns that move us in life.

Astrology, at its core, is a language, one that predates almost everything we think of as modern understanding. The patterns written in the sky and reflected in our lives are not ornaments. They speak to relationship, to timing, to the emotional tides we move through, whether we name them or not. For those willing to listen carefully, they offer something genuinely useful: perspective, illumination, and occasionally a clarity that arrives like a key turning in a lock.

My approach is reflective, unhurried, grounded in both lived experience and traditional practice. What draws me is helping people recognise the deeper currents already moving through their lives, particularly during the times that ask the most of us, and give the least back. Working with both astrology and tarot, I weave these two symbolic languages together to open the space where what needs to be seen can surface.

A few things about me:

• Sun in Leo, Cancer Rising, Moon in Aquarius.
• I left school early and never found my way to university. The hunger for knowledge took its own path regardless, rarely slowing, even now.
• I am the mother of two. It has been the most humbling and transformative undertaking of my life — and the hardest, by some distance.
• As a child, I wanted to be a witch. It turns out I was not so wrong about the direction, only the word.
• Books have been among my most faithful companions.
• Music moves me in ways I cannot entirely account for , as though it connects me to a place beyond the edges of the ordinary.
• Meditation has shaped my inner life more quietly and more profoundly than almost anything else.
• I do not consult my own chart every day. I have learned to trust other ways of knowing.
• I am, in all probability, constitutionally incapable of being incurious.

Whatever brings someone to my work, whether it is relationship questions in all their complexity, matters of career and direction, horary questions or the timing of events, my intention remains constant: to help illuminate what is already present. The patterns, the timing, the emotional undercurrents running beneath the surface of things, these are what I work with to offer something grounded and true in the times when clarity feels like something that belongs to other people.
