“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.” –
Mark Twain
The New Moon in Gemini on the Thursday the 25th May, taps into a tight Venus Pluto square, giving a decidedly intense flavor to this particular New Moon.
Decisions regarding relationships may well be in the air, and if there has been conflict in regards to control issues, jealousy, freedom and personal independence, now is the time when things could flare up. Suddenly overwhelmed by the suffocating feelings that may have been limiting your personal independence, it may be inevitable that it becomes just the right time to finally make that break for freedom.
One might ask though, how such a situation arose in the first place. Venus and Pluto have been involved in an intimate, daring and perhaps even rather aggressive dance since their meeting in the skies on November the 25th 2016. Through the various retrograde processes that these two planets have been involved in since then, it has taken them this long to really come to any clear perspective about their relationship, and where it is heading to next. The challenges of this particular New Moon, flood the consciousness with a huge variety of options, the potentials on offer seem endless, and if you are currently in a relationship which limits you or cramps your style in any way, then it is likely that you will at least be considering if you want out. If, on the other hand, you have the freedom to express your individuality, and take the time and space that you need in order to go it alone when you need to, then all will be well, (until the 3rd week of August, at least!)

The card that governs this particular New Moon is this one, The Eight of Swords, suggesting that it can feel impossible trying to make a decision with all that you are faced with at the moment, although fighting against the issue is likely only to make matters worse. In some ways you may feel that you are “damned if you do, and damned if you don’t”, and for the sake of a peaceful life, you may decide that you are better off where you are, but will you be able to cope with the mental stress that this situation subjects you to? Look carefully at all that you are holding on to, and try to see what is actually relevant; what is weighing you down? Where are you actually heading? What things of value must you take with you? This New Moon, take the time to recognize all that you are, rather than all that you have. Consider the options of travelling light, the adventures that beckon you, and the joy of independence, and how far this sense of power can help you to break the bonds that are keeping you from the freedom of your own creative strength.
