“If seeds despaired in their darkest hours, they would never rise to enjoy their brightest days.”
― Matshona Dhliwayo
Originating at the seed moment of the New Moon in Sagittarius on the 29th November 2016, this Full Moon in Sagittarius speaks of the process of deep transformation that we have experienced in the last six months. During that time, we may well have undergone a purification of the self that has led us into a brand new and hard won understanding of ourselves.
The forces that have been at work in our psyche have been responding at an unconscious level to the powerful influence of groups that we have been in connection with, and also through the tensions and releases that have been experienced in our relationships. During this time we may well have had to battle with all manner of issues, as we have fought to understand the truth of our soul, the path that is ours by birth, rather than the modus operandi that has been passed down to us from our ancestors.
It is only now, at this Full Moon that we may be able to see with clarity, the processes that have been occurring, as we birth a new understanding of ourselves from this period of “psychic gestation”.
If matters have progressed as they should, then we have become more in tune with our own deep understanding of our human natures, more aware of whom we are at the deepest level. This knowledge will enable us to move forward with a greater understanding of what we need to survive and thrive in the brave new world that we inhabit. We will understand better what we wish to see, how better to raise the children of our creativity, unharmed by the pollution and negativity of outdated moral codes and instructions that we have inherited from past generations.
The two cards that govern this particular lunar cycle are The Eight and Nine of Wands.
Thrust into a maelstrom of movement and change at the end of last November, we may have been carried along helplessly, as we were urged to discover what our will actually wanted, what it was that our subconscious yearnings were striving for. This may have been difficult to endure, especially if our lives had become hi-jacked by the ulterior motives of others. A battle of wills may have ensued, and like an illness, a long fever could have had to be experienced, along with its hallucinations and nightmares, before the calm of morning arrived. This experience however, has tempered us into a far stronger container for this new world, and given us the strength and the endurance to withstand what the future may throw at us. We have battled our demons, and we have not died, and thus we have developed strength in the face of opposition. It is now up to us to learn when to yield, in order to gain mastery over what we have accomplished.
