For those of you who like to do a Tarot Spread in order to set intentions for The New Moon, this month things are a little different, because this New Moon, eclipses The Sun, and visible in the USA it will be a Total Eclipse of The Sun, and the second New Moon in Leo this year.
Following on from the discussion on the meaning of this months New Moon in my previous post, “And a King Will Die” I thought it would be interesting to look at this from a wider perspective, and think about what this may mean in our lives.
Many things could have a role of Kingship in our lives, if you think about what we are “ruled by”. What or who have we allowed to command us? Where do we let ourselves be governed by that which is not of our own choosing? Are our lives the lives we decide, or are they lived by the laws of others? Is this our Kingdom, or the domain of another? I have been pondering on these questions lately, and have given much thought to the meaning of this particular eclipse over the last year or so. It is easy to let other people or situations to take charge of life. It could be partners, jobs, parents, children, pets even. All these aspects can “take over” and do so with our full approval. I feel that this eclipse is an opportunity to metaphorically “look at things in a different light”, to examine our lives in the semi-darkness of the eclipse, and to see how the balance of power may need to be altered. So have taken this into consideration, and created the following spread to help use the energy of this New Moon in Leo to identify where YOU are being eclipsed, and where YOU need to come into the light of the Sun to be crowned as ruler in your own life.

Card 3: What energy do I need to employ to take back my power?
Card 4: What revenge must I avoid in order to succeed in keeping my throne?
