The New Moon in Aries falls today in the last decan of Aries, and talks about the success to be gained through a harmonious balance. It will be unwise to be lured into a gung-ho approach to new projects, with an attitude of force, and a brave show of strength. Rather it may be wiser to accept your softer nature too, and see that it too has its qualities, those of endurance and persistence, which, alongside your warrior instinct, will ensure that you stay the course and achieve the first stage of success. The Tarot Card associated with this decan is The Four of Wands.
As a complete departure from Tarot altogether, I am spending the next month with an (arguably) far more ancient form of divination, The I Ching. In this form of divination, “hexagrams” are created either through the casting of sticks, coins or rice grains. I will be using sticks, harvested from my mothers apple orchard, one that she planted herself, as I channel the wisdom and intuition of the feminine, down through my own feminine line.
Even before Tarot, even before Astrology, my first passionate teenage divination relationship was with The I Ching, and I am delighted to be sharing my re-engagement with this craft form here on my blog, thirty five years later! The images and Hexagram text are reproduced here with the very kind permission of Benebell Wen.
My name is Joanna Grant, I am an Astrologer, Tarot Reader and Writer, who lives on the beautiful Beara Peninsula in the South West of Ireland. I can often be found at home, deep in arcane research, or practicing some new form of divination whilst burning the dinner! My children probably wish that I was “normal” but may well remember my eccentricities fondly when they come to face the challenges of their own paths. My long knowledge of Astrology leads and informs my practice, in offering guidance, empowerment and healing, helping others to lead a more authentic and magical life. You can read more about me here.
