“The comfort zone is the great enemy to creativity; moving beyond it necessitates intuition, which in turn configures new perspectives and conquers fears.”
– Dan Stevens
In my discourse on The New Moon in Aries, which occurred on March 28th 2017, I spoke about setting intentions to cut unhealthy connections, and to birth yourself a new reality.
It is a powerful time to set new intentions, especially those which require the severing of bonds that are no longer required. Invoking the power of the Two of Wands to bring you through the chaos of delivery into the dawn of a new personal era, will help you to disconnect from unhealthy connections and to help you to begin again in a distinct and individual way
Six months on, we are witnessing the culmination of that energy, as this fiery cycle reveals the fruits of our intuition, our seership, our creativity, passion and faith.
Spanning the first and second decans of Aries, I have connected this particular lunar cycle to the energy of The Two of Wands and The Three of Wands, associated with Mars & The Sun in Aries respectively. Walking the path on the Kabbalah between Chokmah & Binah, The Empress symbolises the doorway through which we must pass, as we grow from wisdom into understanding. Her process has helped us to carry the dreams of new beginnings forward into the future, nurtured in her womb, until now, so that we can manifest a world of our choosing, and to be its sovereign. In addition, this particular Full Moon falls very soon after the Mars Venus Conjunction in Virgo, really emphasising the theme of conception, birth and new life.
The beginning of this cycle featured the marshalling of chaotic forces, the necessity of finding balance, ultimately within oneself. Cutting free of unhealthy attachments may have been the task at hand, but our attachments are often deeper, and far older than we may at first have realised. Setting off on this journey of creativity, it is unlikely that we realised what we were to experience. At its most intense, it may have been the complete breakdown of who we thought we were, as the raw materials that we were working with, were submerged into the process of gestation and transformation. What has been revealed, potentially, is a revision of original plan. With the raw edges removed, and the refinements in place, a distillation has occurred, and we a are now ready to walk in through the doorway into the new kingdom that awaits us.
No longer enslaved by the “need” for “other” in order to give us creedence or balance, we have, despite our initial impatience, found our own individual strength within this Aries cycle; a thunder that we had dreamed of, but may have been fearful of embracing, a power and a strength with which we can crown ourselves.

The last sentence of your article is superb. It’s empowerment in itself. Rings very true to me. Also in the light of today’s (Monday 2.10) reading. In that Aries cycle I felt that being passive and confronted with sitiuations that left no choice but acceptance and basically non-action, was related to cowardance. And in a way it was, because the action that I struggled with was distracting from way more important actions I avoided to do. Or to put it into other words, I wasn’t ready or mature enough. In your todays article the hexagram 23 “being a mountain for now is wisdom not cowardice” just hits the nail. Very interesting reading, and upcoming full moon.

Thanks Paul… yes it has indeed been a fascinating…if somewhat challenging period… I really love the connections between one decan and the next in the Lunar cycle… it has a very rhythmic energy.
