The Full Moon in Leo-The King Is Dead Long Live The King-January 31st 2018

The heaviest penalty for declining to rule is to be ruled by someone inferior to yourself.

Plato, The Republic

At the end of August last year, the seed New Moon of the current cycle was set, a New Moon that was slightly more special, as it was also a Total Eclipse of The Sun. At that time I wrote as follows:

1a1a2c9f17932b080ac593adbcd935ef--sumerian-assyrian-art“There are likely to be unexpected events in regards to groups that you are connected with, and this could place a great deal of pressure on personal relationships. This situation could loom large as the eclipse affects the chart, but you are advised not to make hasty decisions, as the information that you have to hand, may not be the whole story, which may be especially relevant in regards to anyone with health issues. There may be a tendency to think the worst, but you are encouraged not to “throw the baby out with the bath water”. Reform may well be required, but the message is , that reform from the inside would be more effective than attacking from the outside. High principles and the belief in your own right thinking, may lead to fanatical or incendiary moves, and although you may feel that things are best done your own way, you are encouraged to try to use diplomacy wherever possible, making sure that you have done all that you can do, rather than point the finger at another. The ego will be challenged, and tempers may well flare, but revenge must be avoided at all costs, otherwise you may take action that is later regretted.”

The New Moon last August, I associated with The Seven of Wands, whilst the card that governs the decan of the next Full Moon is The Six of Wands. Joining the Six & Seven of Wands on The Tree of Life, Death stands sentinel, emphasising the part that the Scorpionic energy of release and surrender has played over the last six months. As we have worked to define ourselves amidst all that has been falling away from us, we may have struggled with discovering the essence of who we truly felt that we were. Old definitions, associated with our position in the family, our profession, our marital status, our social group or our income may have been made redundant as we have been forced by circumstances beyond or control to dig deeper, to relinquish our attachment to the labels that we have borne, to find a different crown to wear.

Confronting who we thought we were, and allowing our own personal authority andcanstockphoto2478412 sense of power and strength to emerge, is the essence of this cycle, and through learning to open our hearts and to allow the true essence of our own life to flow through us, we have the opportunity to embrace all that we were born to live.

Unafraid of breaking through the patterns of the past, we are finally able to stand proud, and to accept the success that is ours, to be at one with the passion of our own life force and to step free of the tyranny of what has had governance upon us.

Stay tuned for the Astrological Tarot Spread, which will be ready for the event. 🙂

Wishing you all a blessed Full Moon, and may The Goddess watch over you.
