As we begin with a New Moon, which falls today in the last decan of Gemini, this reading will qualify in some manner, the energy for the next six months. The last decan of Gemini, is associated with the Summer Solstice, the battle between light and dark, the agonies of choice, and the idea that a decision must be made, that no longer can contention exist. The mythologies connected with this phase reverberate with life and death, beginnings and endings, and indeed, the end of a cycle, as this decan is associated with that torturous card The Ten of Swords. In the ancient egyptian calendar, this decan was the last before the flooding of the River Nile, that occurred with the rising of the star Sirius, a period in time that is depicted in the card of The Two of Cups. Hence with this New Moon, we have a sense of  something reaching its final conclusion for now, in that all the work that you can possibly do with something, has now been done, and that you may need to let things rest for now. This does not mean that the story is over, but rather you need to let matters develop at their own pace, for like the parched earth waiting for the Nile flood waters, you may need to wait for a different element to be introduced before new life can arise. The cards that I have drawn from The Quareia deck today, also hint at the same story. They foretell of a period of challenge, that is likely to have a fortuitous outcome, but that we are unlikely to be able to understand the processes that are currently at work. The advice is to go within, and to seek your answers there, for developments are taking place that we have no ability to affect directly, and in fact to try and do so, may be to our detriment. Much like the cards yesterday, we are advised to be still, to attend to our inner life. Through taking time to watch what is happening and to master the challenges that are put in front of us, we will be strengthened and honed for what will come after. Do not see this as a period of stagnation, but rather as a phase of gestation, where the birth that will come, although not recognisable to you now, will, when it does appear, feel as if you have known it forever.
