We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
The New Moon in Leo this morning is a Solar Eclipse, falling at 18 degrees 41. The astrological chart of The Eclipse shows that it falls close to retrograde Mercury, suggesting that communication will be highlighted, and also shows that Chiron is a strong focus in the skies.
This particular decan of Leo is concerned with the alignment of the inner spirit with the drive of the desire nature, in order to achieve an authentic whole. This is not the victory of the “ideal” person nor the celebration of perfect character or moral virtue, but rather the authentic achievements of the ordinary person, who is honest with themselves and others, and who reflects outwardly, the nature of their inner selves.
When one achieves any form of recognition, then one’s vices are also clearly on show, and we are able to see that the crowd that heaps applause and honours upon our shoulders, can as easily cast rocks upon us, should we fall from grace.

The Tarot Card association is The Six of Wands, its astrological nuance is Jupiter in Leo. Here we are challenged to live as we ask others to live, and to align our inner ideals with how we operate in the outside world, and in this way, assure our “victory”. As this particular New Moon is also a Solar Eclipse, I am also drawn to look at the meaning of the eclipse family to which it belongs.
This particular eclipse family, which is of fairly recent origin, as it only started in 1928, is concerned with the sudden collapse of a lifestyles or plans, so through considering this particular decan, this effect will be more intense if your internal needs and external practices are not in harmony. If you are not leading the life that is meant for you, then dramatic changes could well occur.
If you are particularly affected by this eclipse, in that it falls close to any angles or personal planets in your chart, then confusion may well reign in the aftermath, but after the dust settles, there will be the opportunity to rebuild things in a stronger and more authentic manner, one that will assure success.
