-The Aries Ingress 2021- Dry Dock

When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw.

Ingress charts are timed for when planets move into a sign, and traditionally, a “yearly” snapshot of national outcomes is gained by looking at the moment when the Sun moves into 0 degrees of Aries, at the Spring Equinox. Depending on the resulting chart ascendant, it may also be necessary to look further into the charts of the Cancer Ingress- Summer Solstice, Libra Ingress- Autumn Equinox and even the Capricorn Ingress or Winter Solstice.

The Astrology of last year, 2020, had been catching the attention of Astrologers for a long time, those configurations do not come round that often, and we have already borne witness to the unprecedented changes that have ocurred in the last twelve months.

We finished 2020 what is historically is known as “The Great Conjunction”; the union of Jupiter and Saturn in the skies, and although the it occurs every 20 years or so, the last time these pair were conjunct in the sign of Aquarius, as they were in December 2020, was in 1345, when the bubonic plague spread from the East, through Italy and into the rest of Europe. In the 14th Century, the plague had a massive financial impact on medieval Europe, moving the balance of wealth and power from the rich, to allow new worlds to emerge out of the ashes of the old.

A year into the “Covid Crisis” life in Ireland remains rather unchanged, this was what I wrote over a year ago:

Ireland: Up until mid-June 2020, there is likely to be a strong feeling of fear amongst the people which will dictate the whole mood of the country. Although those in power have the welfare of the people at heart, their main concern is in the longer term, and the economic confusion and loss which is likely to occur. In a country which relies so much on tourism, there is likely is a “push-pull” effect suggesting that draconian measures which may slow the spread of the virus will perhaps not be implemented due to the feared losses of revenue and the threat of the long term hardship that could ensue. Mixed communication in this respect will do nothing to calm the collective fears.  After the Equinox, although the theme does not change that much, we are likely to see a renewed effort towards creating connections with neighbouring countries, perhaps the lifting of restrictions that have been imposed. The economy is likely to be behind this push as the longer-term implications of reduced global mobility take effect. The general mood is likely to remain apprehensive, with attention given to the fact that a virus is indiscriminate in its choice of victim, with leaders as well as ordinary people equally affected. Opposition, demonstrations and general discontent from the people is a possibility.

Looking at the chart of the Aries Ingress this year, I see that we will also need to look again at the Libra Equinox ingress, as with a mutable sign rising, this forecast is only good for six months.

Looking at the population as a whole, matters do not look to change that much from what was occurring last year, with a strong possibility, as I see it, that lockdowns will continue into and beyond the summer months. A strong focus on the “Death Rate”, protecting the elderly and the importance of remaining vigilent is likely to persist, with a possibility of increased powers being given to keep the general population in line in order to reduce deaths and to maintain pandemic guidelines.

As a whole however, “the people” seem to be in a position where they may be losing their attention and focus, feeling “lost” and “unfamiliar”; the ebbing of livlihood, financial stability and social interation being their main causes for concern. Faith in the government will remain however, possibly because there is no viable alternative, with fear being the prime motivating factor in keeping people “invisible” with their huge reliance on “welfare”. There may well be increasing calls for “justice” from the population, with the government retaliating with the reminder that people must “Do The Right Thing”; keeping order and control will be the main theme of the next six months. The benvolence of government financial support is likely to remain for the time being although people may increasingly question the validity and purpose of this with revelations of underhand dealings, swindling and the misuse of public money for those that do not need it likley to be revealed.

From looking at the Libra ingress chart that happens on September 22nd 2021, it seems as if the mood of the general population will deterirate further, perhaps giving rise to demonstrations, political unrest, and perhaps even a change or re-shuffle in government. Austerity is likely to remain strong with possibly a reversal of any relaxations that had been permitted, with people quite possibly being encouraged to remain out of circulation to promote the preservation of public health.

Relationships with other countries are likely to become further limited which may accompany the rise in “factions” or “right wing” politics as people become desperate with the ongoing control measures, and all in all, the next 12 months look fairly bleak in regards to freedom of movement in Ireland.

Joanna Grant is an astrologer of some 30 years and gained her Diploma at the Faculty of Astrological Studies in 2012. Weaving her knowledge of the stars together with intuitive tarot techniques, she crafts highly personalised guidance for clients who are often navigating difficult life transitions. Lately, she has been very excited to breathe new life into her astrological practice through her study of Horary, where the traditional techniques of the ancients have helped her to interpret her knowledge in a whole new way. Having recently completed the STA Advanced Level Horary Diploma, she feels that in an uncertain world, the integrity of this tradition is an essential tool in giving clients the guidance they seek.
