Tarot-Spread Gemini Full Moon December 3rd 2017

For those of you who like to lay cards to help focus the Full Moon energy, I have designed this spread from a consideration of the energies of The New Gemini Moon that fell on May 27th 2017, and the Full Gemini Moon that falls on December 3rd 2017.

The seeding New Moon in Gemini, that took place on the 27th of May , spoke of decisions regarding relationships, and the indecision that often accompanies such situations. There may have been a relentless but subtle desire for change, for the arrival of light, of joy and of happiness that if not already present in your life, may well have become an incessant roar that would not go away. You may have found that the techniques that you may have used in the past to pacify yourself, have actually stopped working, and that you have been forced to look at what you have feared most, and realised that only you can resolve the issues at hand, rather than expect your significant other to change.

Perfecting as an exact T-Square with Neptune, this Full Moon falls in the middle decan of Gemini, associated with The Nine of Swords, and may well witness the passing away of dreams that we have held, the loss of the futures that we hoped for in the past, but also, in the same breath, the clarity that we have desired, to see difficult situations truthfully, without the rose tinted spectacles that we may have often worn.

Shuffle your chosen deck, and focus on what has been occurring for you in the last 6 months. Think of any situations where you have been trying to uncover pain and sadness, and also of what you need to break free from in order to move on in a spirit of greater abundance.  Draw 5 cards:

• Card 1: How have I been bound by my fear of making decisions about my life. 
• Card 2: What have I had difficulty “owning” in my significant relationship? 
• Card 3: What skill can I call on to help me through this period of transition?  
• Card 4:What fears threaten to overwhelm me as I move forward?   
• Card 5: What Joy do I stand to gain that I had lost touch with ?

For Card 1, the realm of life can be seen by the element of the card. Card 3 could be an ongoing measure that you can employ to make sure that things remain on course. Card 4 is likely to show what you have gained… if this is a “negative” card, it may be an understanding of a difficult experience that you have undergone, in order to learn the healing message that was promised in the New Moon.  Card 5 will be the lesson of the phase, a core concept or mandala that you can employ in the future to assist you in remembering what you have learned in this phase. The three cards that I have associated with this phase, The Eight & Nine of Swords, and The Sun, all add to the number 9, the number of The Hermit, suggesting that a time of withdrawal and introspection is likely to follow this particular lunar cycle. Through turning inwards, and exploring our own “private underworld” we learn much. Freed from the need to “be” who we are “expected” to be by others, we find a space where we can be authentic and real, letting our true selves emerge into the peace that we create.  Try adding your own five cards together and see which of the Major Arcana you arrive at.
