The Aries Ingress 2018: Spring Cleaning

Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

William Morris

As the Sun passes through from Pisces into Aries at around 16.20 GMT March 20th this year, it marks the point of The Spring Equinox, and we enter a new astrological year, the beginning of a new era.

We feel renewed, and are able to recognize the potential that is inherent in this time, to help us to sever any unhealthy connections that we may have to the events of the old year, so that we can begin again on a new or perhaps wiser footing. Emerging from the watery womb of Pisces, into the broad light of this new day, we may be blinking with the strength of this powerful light, dazzled by the potentials, or indeed the emptiness which lies before us. Gone are the confusing and cloying thoughts that may have held us in a fast embrace for the last while; there is a whole new world lying ahead of us that needs discovering.

It may feel as if strength and vitality is slowly returning to our limbs, and we may be amazed at how lethargic and tired we have been feeling without realizing it. Last years ingress featured a Saturn Moon conjunction, and we may have found that during the past year we have experienced a gruelling test of our ability to really get in touch with our deepest feelings, a difficult task for many. We may have been forced to examine  where our emotional inhibitions and fears have been holding us back from really growing in the way that we needed to.

This year, the ingress is accompanied by a square to Mars, and a conjunction to Chiron, and it may be that we are challenged to balance our energy between our desire to forge ahead on our personal mission, and the knowledge that we also have responsibilities to attend to, the jobs that we know are still there to be done, and that we now have the energy for. What may seem like personal sacrifice, or the loss of independence, may in time reveal itself to be time well spent in building a stronger base from which to operate. This time will not be wasted, and dreams of adventure may have to wait their turn, in order that when you do venture forth, that you have a personal solidity, an inner compass to serve as your anchor, should you meet stormy waters in your travels ahead. Spring Equinox 2018
